2011-04-07 UPDATE
Every Nation Relief Team #6 took 2 tons of supplies but the 100 people on the island received a shipment before they could get there. So they were re-routed to the city of Onagawa where they delivered all the kerosene and about half of the supplies to a relief center run by Japanese military. The other half was delivered to a church in Sendai for further use as needed. The three-man team was a blessing to both locations and worked to help re-organize the storage facility and redistribute unused supplies (mostly bags of old clothes donated by other organizations which were difficult to distribute).

Every Nation Relief Team #6 will spend the night tonight at a church in Sendai and then board a ship in Ishinomaki city and deliver much needed supplies to 100 people stranded on a nearby island. Please pray for the three-man team from Yokosuka Grace Bible Church. They are Kazuo Iwagami, Stephen Zimmer and James Mercer.
See www.everynation.jp for details.
Thank you for your prayers for Bryan Kato and James Mercer. They successfully delivered almost 2 tons of supplies to a church and a refugee camp in north eastern Sendai on Sunday. With the help of our Every Nation Churches around Japan, we have already delivered approximately 6 tons of supplies (mostly food and water) to the homeless in the Tohoku area. Another 4 ton truck is leaving Shimada today and we are collecting more food at the church daily.
We have asked our special speakers for the next month to delay their tips to Japan because of the recent Earthquake and Tsunami. Instead we will be meeting at the church to pray for Japan and send relief.
